Foreclosure of peoples home, which result in the loss of jobs. Republicans have begun to question how well the plan will really work.

4. Can you think of others ways that the federal government could help families who are struggling in the current economy? Explain.

* The government can help families who are struggling in the current economy by creating more jobs. They can also help companies who are doing poorly so people won't have to be laid off. Lowering taxes would also be a big help to families so they can save money. Prices on goods and services such as food and gas should also go down. People need these items everyday. They are so expensive now. Lowering the cost woul help a lot.

5. According to the program: How many additional U.S. forces are being sent to Afghanistan? Why has President Obama decided to deploy more troops to this region?

* 17,000 new troops are being sent to Afghanistan. President Obama has decided to deplooy more troops to Afghanistan because the U.S. and Talibans are clashing.

6. According to the report: What is Task Force Spartan's mission in Afghanistan? What challenges has the unit faced regarding its mission?

* Task Force Spartan's mission in Afghanistan is to deal with the attacks caused by the Taliban. There is a huge increase in Americans in Afghanistan now.

7. How have local Afghans responded to the presence of U.S. troops, based on the information in the segment?

* Local Afghans are happy with the presence of U.S. troops. They feel their prescense is extra security.

8. Do you think that the increased U.S. troop levels will have an impact on the situation in Afghanistan? Why or why not?

* I do not think the increase in U.S. troops will have an impact on the situation in Afghanistan. We have been there for years, sending more and more troops as the months went by. Yet the situation has remained the same since we arrived. If there is a change, it will that there is more security. Other than that, I don't think there will be a significant impact.

9. What are Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)? What are some examples of HBCUs?

* HBCUs are historically black, accredited institutions. Their main goal is to educate black Americans by offering the best learning environment possible. FAMU is an example of an HBCU.

10. What accounts do the students featured in the report offer about their experiences at HBCUs? In your opinion, what might be the benefits of attending an HBCU?

* They learned about history and seen how times have changed. They learn more about how blacks have been treated in the past and came around to amazing things. Attending an HBCU would be beneficial because I would get to learn more about how African Americans have helped America.
