CNN QUESTI0NSSSSS;;

1. Wildfires are claiming plenty of lives and property in Australia. ;Victoria is the state w/ most impact

2. Compared to the other disasters this one claimed to have lost more lives than any other,

3. The stronger winds have made this disaster worse. If I were to help i wouldve made sure everyone wasnt around &could help them get out of there

4. Some athletes abuse steriods to build up muscle mass. Also; w/ men they can grow breats &women can grow facial hair &things like men get. If kids or young people take it. it can stop their growth,

5. Alex Rodriguez is a baseball player in the major leagues for the New York Yankees. They said that in 2003 he tested positive for steriods, but he denies it,

6. The players union issued a statement denying the improper tipping of players in 2004.
Rodriguez signed a new 10 year contract with Yankees in 2007, guaranteeing $275 million dollars with incentives for becoming the new home run king.

7. Former Yankees coach Larry Bowa said "If this is true, he's just got to come forward and say, "You know what? I tried this." I think Andy Pettitte did it, Giambi did it. If you're going to sit there and deny everything, you're going to be in a world of trouble."
& i totally agree with him. because its worse to lie & get caught, then to just be honest.

8. I think this will ruin his image because no1 will know whats true or not or if he does do steriods but it still doesnt make him a less of a player. people take things too serious.

9. About 68 million women are on the job, just under half of the workforce. The shift is taking place because male-dominated industries, such as manufacturing and construction, are being hit hard in this recession.

10. I think people will realize woman can do as much as men,

1. What kind of disaster is claiming lives and property in Australia? What state has been most impacted by this disaster?
Deadly wildfires. Victoria

2. How do the effects of this disaster compare to those of the 1983 Ash Wednesday fire?
Claiming more than 100 lives and scorching nearly half a million acres. Streets are completly destroyed.

3. What conditions have made this disaster worse? If you were an elected official, what ideas might you offer to minimize the loss of life and property in future similar disasters?
It seemed spot fires were starting up everywhere as winds stronger than anyone had seen carried embers for kilometres and put more and more communities under threat. The only thing that I can think of is just really good house and car and overall just good insurance.

4. According to the program: Why do some athletes abuse anabolic steroids? What are some side effects of anabolic steroid abuse for men, women and adolescents?
To help build muscle mass. They're risking: liver damage, cancer and severe acne. In addition, men who abuse steroids may become infertile and develop breasts, and women may grow facial hair and experience male-pattern baldness. Steroids are also known to keep young people from reaching their full height if the drugs are used before adolescents hit their growth spurts.

5. Who is Alex Rodriguez? What did two Sports Illustrated reporters recently reveal about him? How did Rodriguez respond to this allegation? How did Rodriguez respond to questions posed to him about performance enhancing drugs during a television interview 14 months ago?
He plays for the New York Yankees. They revealed that tested positive for steroids while he was with the Texas Rangers. "You'll have to talk to the union." He just said "no".

6. According to the Sports Illustrated article, what role did the baseball players' union have in the alleged steroid scandal involving Rodriguez? How has the players' union responded to this claim?
They would give Alex the heads up when they were going to do a test. Also, some were taking it as well. They would deny it.

7. What words of advice does former Yankees coach Larry Bowa have for Rodriguez? Do you agree with this strategy? Why or why not?
He says that he should just admit that he did use them. Yeah, I think it's the best he could do.

8. Do you think that these latest steroid allegations will damage professional baseball's image, or do you believe that it is a part of the sport that fans should accept? State your rationale.
It will damage it because this isn't something you could be like "ohhh no, it's ok, it's just steroids". People, especially children look up to them, and the image they're setting is horrible.

9. What kind of gender shift is occurring in the American workplace? According to the report, what are some reasons why this shift is taking place? What historic event jumpstarted this trend?
Women may soon outnumber men in the workplace. More men are losing they're jobs, so they're depending more on the women. In the early 1940s, as World War II began, women made up a quarter of the labor force. But as millions of men went to fight, the female share of the job market started growing, bringing new opportunities, new aspirations. It's never really stopped.

10. If women do eventually outnumber men in the workplace, do you think that it will have an impact on how society views gender roles? Explain.
I hope not, I mean it wouldn't be such a bad thing, but this whole "women come in second place" is so ancient, that it shouldn't be such a big shocker.
