1.* Fixing the country's foreclosure crisis. That by helping as many as nine million Americans stay in their homes. The cost: $75 billion dollars, which will come from the stimulus package that's now in effect.
2.* People who either need to refinance or are facing foreclosure. It will help millions of Americans who are struggling with declining home values
*And not everyone likes the idea, because the government is essentially picking up the ball for people who made bad decisions and banks that made bad loans.
3.*My opinion of it is that it is a great idea and it will help many people stay in a home and not be on the streets which will save plenty of lives.
4.* Darfur is a region in the African nation of Sudan. The U.N. estimates that 300,000 people have been killed in the violence, and 2.5 million others have been forced to flee their homes.
5.* Five counts of crimes against humanity: murder, Article 7, Paragraph 1a; extermination, Article 7,1b; forcible transfer, Article 7,1d; torture, Article 7,1f and rape, Article 7,1g. The Sudanese government called the accusations an insult and said it does not plan to cooperate.
6.* And we repeat with Shakespearean Macbeth that all perfumes of Arabia will not clear this dirt created by the ICC against our leadership. Ghastly litany of alleged misdeed for a sitting president to face, accused of masterminding war crimes and crimes against humanity against the citizens of Darfur. For now, he's been let off a genocide charge, but that might change, says the world court.
7.* I really don’t know what role they should do in bringing al-Bashir in to trail.
8.* It went up about 150 points yesterday, but that's after a five-day slump left the Dow at its lowest level in nearly 12 years. It is up! It's down! It's tanked.
9.* AVOR WILLIAMS, SCHOOL TEACHER: It bothers me because that shows me how the economy is doing.
MIKE LEONETTI: It concerns me more because of how everybody reacts to it.
RANDOLPH CONDS: I'm concerned, definitely I'm alarmed.
10.* No I have not been following the performance. No it will not. Because I’m not really concerned about this.

1. What is the goal of the housing plan that President Barack Obama launched yesterday? Approximately how many homeowners might be helped by this program? How much will the president's plan cost?
* The goal of the housing plan is to slow down or stop the record rate of U.S. home foreclosures. About 9 million homeowners will be helped with this plan. The plan will cost about $75 billion dollars, which will come from the stimulus plan.

2. According to the report: Which homeowners are being targeted by the president's plan? How will the plan assist these home buyers? What criticisms have been raised regarding the plan?
*People who either need to refinance or are facing foreclosure. They will adjust the interest rate to lower what you have to pay that month. The government will make up the difference by paying the bank with stimulus funds. Some people are not sure if this plan will work out. Some with adjusted mortgages still fell behind on payments. Others also feel that the presidents plan is unfair to those who paid their mortgages and are just picking up for those that didn’t.

3. What is your opinion of the president's foreclosure plan?
Personally, I think the President is doing what he believes is right for the country. We were left in one large mess after the last president and it’s very hard work to clean up this country. At least the president has an idea of what he is going to do and has already put it into action, rather than sitting there and doing nothing.

4. Where is Darfur located? What is the status of the humanitarian crisis in Darfur?
*Darfur is a region in the African Nation of Sudan. Due to violence that broke out in 2003 against the Sudanese government, the United Nations call it “the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.”

5. What crimes has the International Criminal Court (ICC) charged against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in connection with the crisis in Darfur? How has the Sudanese government responded to the charges?
*They have charged him with murder, extermination, forcible transfer, torture and rape. The court issued an arrest warrant against him, but the government looks at it as an insult and does not plan to cooperate.

6. According to the report: What has been the global reaction to the ICC's action? What challenges does the ICC face in bringing al-Bashir to trial?
* The global reaction has been to not cooperate. ICC faces major challenges because they do not have a police force.

7. What role, if any, do you think that the international community should play in bringing al-Bashir to trial? Explain.
*They should fight for their rights and bring justice to the families who lost loved ones. After all, they were the ones to bring the charges against him. The least they can do is carry forth with their plans.

8. What is the Dow Jones Industrial Average? How has the Dow performed recently?
*The average is, 150+ points. So far it has increased 150 points, but that is after a five day slump which has left it at it’s lowest after 12 years.

9. According to the report: Why are some people obsessed with the recent performance of the Dow? What advice regarding the Dow do some experts offer to Americans who are concerned about the economy?
*People are obsessed because it tells them how well the economy is doing. All they hear about is the DOW on the news or on the radio. Everyone should not be obsessed with the Dow, but just be aware of it.

10. Have you been following the performance of the Dow? Will the information in this segment change how closely you follow the Dow and other economic indicators? Why or why not?
* I really don’t follow it, unless I hear that it as hit it’s ultimate low.

1. What is the goal of the housing plan that President Barack Obama launched yesterday? Approximately how many homeowners might be helped by this program? How much will the president's plan cost?
Helping as many as nine million Americans stay in their homes. 75 billion

2. According to the report: Which homeowners are being targeted by the president's plan? How will the plan assist these home buyers? What criticisms have been raised regarding the plan?
People who either need to refinance or are facing foreclosure. It will help millions of Americans who are struggling with declining home values, Americans who will now be able to take advantage of the lower interest rates that this plan has already helped to bring about. In fact, 64% of those questioned in a recent poll said the president's plan is unfair to people who pay their mortgages on time.

3. What is your opinion of the president's foreclosure plan?
It could help, but everything has a positive and negative effect on it.

4. Where is Darfur located? What is the status of the humanitarian crisis in Darfur?
Darfur is a region in the African nation of Sudan. Violence erupted there in 2003 when rebel groups launched attacks against the Sudanese government. The fighting that followed led to what the United Nations calls "the worst humanitarian crisis in the world."

5. What crimes has the International Criminal Court (ICC) charged against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in connection with the crisis in Darfur? How has the Sudanese government responded to the charges?
Five counts of crimes against humanity: murder, Article 7, Paragraph 1a; extermination, Article 7,1b; forcible transfer, Article 7,1d; torture, Article 7,1f and rape, Article 7,1g. The court's action touched off sympathetic demonstrations in Brussels.

6. According to the report: What has been the global reaction to the ICC's action? What challenges does the ICC face in bringing al-Bashir to trial?
No one expects to see al-Bashir in the dock at the Hague anytime soon. The International Criminal Court has no police force. It said it expects United Nations member states to arrest the Sudanese president when and if he leaves his country's borders

7. What role, if any, do you think that the international community should play in bringing al-Bashir to trial? Explain.
A big one if he did all those things.

8. What is the Dow Jones Industrial Average? How has the Dow performed recently?
It went up 150 points yesterday. The Dow has taken on a life of its own. It's up! It's down!

9. According to the report: Why are some people obsessed with the recent performance of the Dow? What advice regarding the Dow do some experts offer to Americans who are concerned about the economy?
Because it basically shows how the economy is doing. Dr. Browne says you should ask yourself this: Did you become a multi-millionaire when the Dow soared to 14,000 in 2007? Browne says if you have a job now and you pay your mortgage, it's not likely the falling Dow will drive you to the poorhouse.

10. Have you been following the performance of the Dow? Will the information in this segment change how closely you follow the Dow and other economic indicators? Why or why not?
No, I haven't. Not really I hate hearing about the economy because it's really bad to hear it constantly and having to actually follow something makes it worse, so I'm ok.
