At some points this kind of punishment is right and wrong. its right at the point where no one can help the teacher with disruptive students. This punishment would not work because students would tell their parents what their teachers have done to them. But they would learn what to do and what not to do. Wrong because its just wrong to beat students for something they might have done.
I believe it is wrong because if you dothat at Piper evry teacher would get beaten up because with the amount of students in this school and with a lot ingnerent students that punishment wont work. Also the teacher and the school be braught to court and they will get into some trouble!

1. No, Spanking at School is wrong and embarassing. This punishment can be effective because the embarassment can make kids stop doing wrong things. Some kids get more beatings than other because racism towards the black. I would not re-introduce this punishment into a classroom because it's embarassing.

1. I dont think the practice of spanking at public schools should continue because it should be the parents responsibility to do the spanking not the schools.
2. This method could be effective on some kids but not others, if a student is used to the beating it would almost not effect him.
3. According to the article black females were paddled twice the rate of white females, so I think it sounds like a race issue.
4. If I lived in a state where spanking in school was banned I would not try to get it back because it promotes violence which is a negativ ething to have in a school enviorment.

I dont think this type of punishment is effective because students now and days will hit a teacher back because they fight for what they believe in and beating students is wrong.
Some kids get more beating then others either because their black, they have disablities or they just are diffrent from what the teacher prefers.
I would not re introduce this punishment because its not effective and it doesnt work.
Basically i think this whole thing about beating students is rediculous and shouldnt be aloud in any state or country.

In my opinion, students should only be disiplined by their parents. Being Disiplined in a way such as being "Spanked" by someone you barely know such as another student or teacher might only make matter's worse. Because i know if it was me, i might fight back anybody trying to hit me unless it's a family member such as my mother or grandmother

I think that students should get spanked in school and would like to behave better in school. I think this punishment would be effective because the students would behave and know what is wrong or right. Some kids get more beating because their behavior is maybe terrible than others. I think that it would cause a problem if it is reintroduced back in school because people in today's society is more likely to be violent.

In my own opinion i think that it all depends on the age of the child. Hitting a small child at an early age can either make them hustile or physiclly afraid of everything. So to finish i think its not a good idea because it a lose lose situation

Not only because of my age but i also agree wit the reporter that giving corporal punishment is encouraging violence. i do believe that corporal punishmnet is effective because when a person is punished they generally don't commit the same act again. I think that practice shouldnt be continued because the students arent the teachers kid and they dont have the approval from the real parents. This punishment wouldnt be effective because in some cases that may be causing long term damage on the kids mind. Some teachers might be a little racist or that one kid behaves worse then the other ones. If it was up to me I would never reinstate that punishment because if its wrong for parents to hit their own kid, then what gives the teachers the right to hit kids that arent theirs.

To me I think that when you should spank a child it's at a young age because they would learn form right and worng. When you get older there should't hit the kids any more because they learn there lesson as a child. So no i think that it should not take place at all

in some cases i do think that the spank rule should be brought back because this rule worked in the earlier times and I think that some students should learn their lesson. On the other hand I think that the rule should not be brought back because it is illegeal for any other person to hit someone over age so why should that be any fifferent in this situation?

In my opinion spanking/paddling in school should not be allowed. School's supposed tyo be a safety and happy place; but with the spanking rule enforced kids would be scared and dread the thoughtof even attending school!
I belive that this method of disipline is totally and completly ridiculous. Hitting a child like the article said teaches violence and thats not what you want to portray to them. At one point they may start to think that since thier parents can do it that they can hit who ever they want if that child/elder did something wrong.
Some children now-a-days get more beatings for silly reasons. Such as for attention, its ubsurd.
The way things are now in today's world I dont believe that you should go around hitting other people children, like honestly that the parents job. If it was allowed somewhere I do believe that it would work but only with younger crowd since they know that there would be any issue if they were to misbehave. Umm, all children are different and you should be allowed to continue to beat a child if the issue hasn't been solved thats why everyone has parents. NO NO NO This sourt of punishment should not be practiced, should not be possible period for country or school!!! i do think the punishment would be effective but not for getting an education for being scared and for being not preparied to answer questions or to stand out and not to be scared to be open mined. Some kids this form of corpal punishment there parents approve it because there parents beat them to teach there child a lesson is fine every once in a while. But to verbialy and physicaly do it constantly to the poor child is redicious!!! Im proud to live in a country where such punishment is banned and we have our own rights. i tottaly disagree with this punishiment especially from a teacher. i agree that a parent or guardian can but i disagree with the teacher doing it. theres so many things that could happen to the student. he/she could get hurt in many ways. i think they should just ban all schools being allowed to spank kids at school
