There are still thousands of organizations out there that need financial help and if there is enough money, they deserve the right to use it.

Approximately, 1.4 million turned out for Mardi Gras before Katrina hit. Many say that Mardi Gras will top the amount of people ever present there before, despite the struggling economy.

6. Do you or your family take part in any traditional celebrations like Mardi Gras? If so, do you think that economic concerns might impact your participation in the event? Why or why not?
My family does take part in celebrations like Mardi Gras. We attend Carnival (Unite-a-Fest) and they are planning on attending Caribana in Canada some time soon. Since (Unite-a-Fest) is always free, I don’t think it will be a problem. But for other celebrations that require purchasing tickets, I don’t think we will attend because of the economy.

One African-American was Harriet Tubman, who served as a spy, scout and nurse for military purposes. Others were, William Jackson, Robert Small and etc.

Slaves did not know how to read, but relied on the African Story Telling Tradition, which helped them remember critical information.

African-Americans most likely spied for the North because, they wanted freedom. They had hopes of ending slavery. If they were caught, they were most likely hung.

Some famous African Americans were, Rosa Parks, who refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man. There was Martin Luther King Jr., who had a dream that we should all be able to get along as one, despite are skin color. And there was George Washington Carver, who invented peanut butter!

1. the dow jones dropped 250 points yesterday. the last time was almost 12 years ago .some experts blame it on investor concerns that the government wont be able to turn around the recession.



2. directly to medical issuses. it will go to the people who are sruggling with health care payments.

3. they dont agree with some parts of the stimulus pacakge. i would say that if you dont agree with it then we'll take the money back and use it for another well needed issue.

i think that slaves were spies for the north becuase people listened and they weren't treated the same way they were normally treated.
