Too Much Red Bull...may have killed
Who- Chloe Leach
What- Chloe Leach collapsed on the dance floor at a party. Doctors believed she suffered a rare heart condition triggered by the excessive amounts of caffeine she had drank.
When- Last year.
Where- Sugarmill Club in Hull, East Yorks.
Why- She drank four cans of Red Bull and several VKs which all contain caffeine. Doctors believe she died because the excessive caffeine triggered a rare heart condition. She epilepsy, QT Syndrome and an abnormally large heart, all of which may have contributed to her death.
* I feel bad that such a young person died. But she should not have been drinking so much caffeine, especially when she had so many medical conditions.
School Bigs Threaten Kids
Who- Second graders and administrators.
What- Principal Kerry Castellano and other administrators were accused of asking a class of second graders to write a statement about their teachers disciplinary actions. If they did not do it, administrators threatened students that they would be suspended if they told their parents.
When- January 2009.
Where- PS 70 in Mount Eden.
Why- The article did not say why the administrators wanted statements about the teachers disciplinary actions or why they threatened the kids not to tell their parents.
* I think that's messed up. Administrators shouldn't do that to students, especially young second graders.
Obama Beenie Babies
Who- The company that makes the popular Beenie Babies.
What- They have retired the names "Marvelous Malia" and "Sweet Sasha" from its TY Girlz collection.
When- Sometime this year.
Where- Oakbrook, Illinois.
Why- Michelle Obama thought that using her daughters names was inappropriate to she asked the company not to use it.
* I think it is a good thing to use the girls names. But Mrs. Obama does not think so. I think it shows that America is pleased with our new First Family and sales on the dolls would go up.
