* A Taliban commander has threatened to execute all spies or hold them in exchange for the release of Taliban fighters. He also promised to keep girls out of public schools. The international community need to continue their fight against the Taliban and not give in to their foolish blackmail ticks (holding hostages).

* The government gave AIG $170 billion to keep it afloat and some officials are upset that they intend to give out $165 million in bonuses! Some AIG’ officials state that they are legally required to make some of those payments.

* Americans are spending a lot less because they loss much during this recession. They have turned to bartering as their way of making it through. They also only buy necessities versus wants.

* My family and I only buy necessities such as food. We buy groceries versus going out because it is cheaper to do so.

* I’m not planning on buying a car anytime soon, I already have one.

* David Holmes is a flight attendant who incorporates rap into his job by rapping about the safety that passengers should use. Holmes rapping enticed the passenger and so they actual listened to the message he was sending about their safety.

* Borders Books, garage sale ads, barter offers and musicians. auto mechanics have been recieving more bussiness.

* They have not been going out or eatin out anywhere. Trying to save gas and keep working, since they're accountants. they do bussiness at home.

2. What statements has the Taliban made concerning foreign aid workers in Afghanistan and the education of Afghan girls? In your opinion, how should the international community respond to these statements, if at all?
* The Taliban have made statements concerning foreign aid workers by gathering info on these workers and executing them as spies or holding them in exchange for the release of Taliban fighters. The Afghan girls are being kept out of public schools to protect them from being violated. Personally, I think they need to have better security because no one deserves to be kept out of school. Everyone has the right to an education.

3. Why has some U.S. government officials recently criticized AIG about bonus payments made by the company? What has been AIG's response to this controversy?
* They are criticizing them because the government has given AIG about 170 billion dollars to keep them afloat. Instead of using the money for other things, they are using it to pay out 165 million dollars in bonuses. AIG is legally required to make some of those payments, but they are planning to lower 2009 bonuses by 30%. Those high paied employees are going to suffer big cuts in their salaries.

*Americans have changed their spending habits by buying less of the things that they don’t need. Some are making lists to only buy what’s on the list and giving themselves budgets when they go to the store. Penny saved, penny earned.

* Some businesses that are struggling are Dominoes, Borders and 5 Star Restaurants’. Unlike Netflix, they are prospering. They’ve had about 10 million new subscribers during the recession. Also, public libraries are booming as well. People are struggling with their finances and are looking for all possible ways to make their lives a whole lot easier.

* My family has stopped spending money on unnecessary things. We don’t go on shopping sprees anymore or out for dinner. Instead, we eat at home and spend money only on major necessities.

*Making sure you have all the history on the car. You can take the service number to the dealer to get the information. People make mistakes by going out on test drives and just believing what the sales person has to say. When you test drive the car, drive it on roads that you are used too. Just to see how well the car handles. Also, bring your own IPOD or MP3 to test out the audio of the car. You don’t want to arrive home and find that the jack is not working. Another thing you can do is pay attention to when the dealer says the car has four brand new tires. He could just be hiding that the car has some alignment problems.

* Yes, I am planning on buying a car soon and I am considering purchasing a used car. When shopping for a car, mileage, year of the car, safety and car history are all important factors to me. The car also has to have a working audio deck!

*David Holmes is a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. When giving out the pre-flight instructions, he raps it and asks for audience participation (clapping and stomping). The benefits of his rapping is that people will actually listen to the emergency instructions.

*Rapping can be beneficial in classrooms when giving out instructions.

Girls are being deprived of an education and that is not fair.

Thestress may be getting to them so they lookfor ways to calm down and have a chill day.
